Do you offer nationwide delivery?
Yes.
We can arrange delivery throughout New Zealand.
Are Ultima products made to order?
Yes.
All Ultima products are manufactured to order. We do not hold pre-pressed panels or pre-machined products in stock, allowing us to manufacture products specifically for each project.
What are the typical lead times?
Lead times vary depending on the product and material availability.
NatureFusion™ Timber Veneer Panels – Approximately 2 weeks.
Elegancia™ Solid Timber Feature Panelling – Approximately 3 weeks.
ModernEdge™ Decorative Laminates and AFX™ Anti-Fingerprint Laminates – Approximately 2 weeks for stocked decors.
Lead times are estimates and may vary depending on production schedules and material availability.
Do any products require special ordering?
Yes.
Some products and decors are supplied on an indent basis.
NatureFusion™ – Veneers requiring special sourcing for custom lay-ups or project-specific requirements may require additional lead time.
ModernEdge™ and AFX™ – Selected decors are indent only and require a minimum order quantity (MOQ) of 10 sheets (mixed decors permitted). These products are typically air freighted to New Zealand at the customer's cost, with an estimated transit time of 2–3 weeks, before manufacturing commences.
Can indent products be supplied by sea freight?
Yes.
If your project has a flexible timeframe, indent-only ModernEdge™ and AFX™ decors can be supplied via sea freight instead of air freight, significantly reducing freight costs.
Sea freight typically takes approximately 12 weeks from the time an order is placed with our overseas supplier. As overseas purchasing is demand-driven rather than scheduled at fixed intervals, overall lead times may vary. We recommend discussing your project with our team early if you wish to explore this option.
How do I request a quotation?
Contact our team with your product selection, quantities, dimensions and delivery location. We'll prepare a quotation based on your project requirements.
Can I request samples or view products before ordering?
Yes.
Samples are available for most products. While colours can often be discussed using photographs or emailed images, screen settings vary between devices and should not be relied upon for final colour selection.
For the most accurate assessment, we recommend visiting our Auckland showroom to view products in person. If you are looking to match an existing material, bringing a physical sample will provide the closest comparison.
How should Ultima products be stored and handled?
Ultima products should be stored flat, indoors, in a clean, dry environment. Products should be protected from moisture, direct sunlight, excessive heat and physical damage prior to manufacture or installation.
When not in use, products should remain wrapped and securely strapped where possible to help maintain panel flatness and protect surfaces and edges from damage. Packs should be stored on a flat, fully supported base or on evenly spaced dunnage to provide adequate support and minimise the risk of sagging, bowing or distortion.
Where appropriate, products should be allowed to acclimatise to the installation environment before manufacture or installation. Always follow the relevant product care, handling and installation recommendations.
Where can I find technical documentation?
Technical data sheets, installation information, care guides and other product documentation are available on our Resources page.
NatureFusion™ Timber Veneer Panels
What is NatureFusion™?
NatureFusion™ is a genuine timber veneer product, available as veneer layons or professionally pressed onto a range of engineered substrates. It combines the natural appearance of timber with the stability and consistency required for modern cabinetry, furniture, and interior joinery.
Will every sheet look identical?
No.
Natural variation is an inherent characteristic of timber veneer. Differences in grain, colour and figure should be expected and contribute to the unique appearance of each project.
Why does natural veneer vary in colour and grain?
Timber is a natural material, so no two sheets are identical. Variations in species, log selection, slicing method and natural growth characteristics mean every veneer sheet is unique.
Samples should be used as a guide only.
Can veneers be supplied with sequential grain matching?
Where possible, veneer is supplied using consecutive leaves from the same flitch to provide a consistent appearance across multiple panels. If your project requires a specific lay-up, matching sequence or grain continuity, please discuss your requirements with our team before ordering.
Can NatureFusion™ be clear coated or stained?
Yes.
NatureFusion™ is supplied unfinished, allowing you to apply the coating system best suited to your project. A protective finish should always be applied to enhance durability and protect the veneer.
What substrates are available?
NatureFusion™ can be supplied as veneer layons or pressed onto:
MDF
Plywood
Customer-supplied substrates
What sizes are NatureFusion™ panels available in?
The standard NatureFusion™ panel size is 2440 × 1220 mm.
Some species are also available in:
2740 × 1220 mm
3050 × 1220 mm
American White Oak and American Walnut are also available in 3600 × 1220 mm.
Availability varies by species. Please contact our team if you require a specific size or species.
Is matching edge tape available?
Yes.
Matching timber veneer edge tape is available for most species to provide a consistent finished appearance.
Can I order custom veneer species?
Yes.
If your required species is not held in stock, we can often source it specifically for your project. Additional lead times may apply depending on supplier availability.
ModernEdge™ Decorative Laminate
What is ModernEdge™?
ModernEdge™ is a decorative high-pressure laminate (HPL) available in a wide range of colours, woodgrains and surface finishes. It is designed for interior applications requiring a durable, low-maintenance decorative surface.
What is High Pressure Laminate (HPL)?
High Pressure Laminate (HPL) is manufactured by bonding multiple layers of kraft paper and decorative paper together under high heat and pressure using thermosetting resins. The result is a durable decorative surface designed for interior applications.
Is ModernEdge™ scratch resistant?
ModernEdge™ is highly resistant to everyday wear, scratches and impact under normal use. As with any decorative surface, excessive force or sharp objects may still damage the laminate.
Is ModernEdge™ heat resistant?
Yes.
ModernEdge™ offers good resistance to normal household and commercial temperatures. However, hot pots, pans or other high-temperature items should not be placed directly onto the surface.
Is ModernEdge™ moisture resistant?
Yes.
The laminate surface itself is highly resistant to moisture. However, moisture protection ultimately depends on correct fabrication, edge sealing and the substrate used.
Can ModernEdge™ be postformed?
Yes.
Selected ModernEdge™ decors are available in postformable grade. To quickly identify suitable products, use the Postformable filter (PF/NPF) on the ModernEdge™ collection page.
Is matching edge tape available?
Yes.
Edge tape is available for selected ModernEdge™ decors to provide a consistent finished appearance.
What finishes are available?
ModernEdge™ is available in a range of surface finishes and textures, including satin, suede, gloss and a variety of textured options, depending on the selected décor.
Are all colours held in stock?
No.
While some ModernEdge™ decors are stocked in New Zealand, selected colours are available on an indent basis. Additional lead times and minimum order quantities may apply.
AFX™ Anti-Fingerprint Laminate
What is AFX™?
AFX™ is an ultra-matt high-pressure laminate (HPL) designed for interior applications where appearance, durability, hygiene and ease of maintenance are important. Its advanced Electron Beam Curing (EBC) technology creates a soft-touch surface with anti-fingerprint performance, antimicrobial, and antiviral surface properties.
Why choose AFX™ over standard HPL?
AFX™ offers all the durability and versatility of standard high-pressure laminate (HPL), with the added performance benefits of Electron Beam Curing (EBC) technology. Its anti-fingerprint performance, hygienic surface properties and ultra-matt soft-touch finish make it particularly well suited to high-use interior environments where appearance, hygiene and ease of maintenance are important.
What is Electron Beam Curing (EBC)?
Electron Beam Curing (EBC) is an advanced manufacturing technology that uses high-energy electrons to permanently cure the laminate's surface coating, creating an exceptionally dense and durable finish. Unlike conventional curing methods, EBC requires no additional chemical curing agents, resulting in an ultra-matt surface with enhanced wear resistance, anti-fingerprint performance, antimicrobial, and antiviral surface properties.
How does the anti-fingerprint technology work?
The Electron Beam Cured (EBC) surface helps minimise the appearance of fingerprints and smudges by reducing the transfer and visibility of natural skin oils during everyday use. This helps keep surfaces looking cleaner for longer with less frequent wiping than conventional laminate.
Does AFX™ have antimicrobial and antiviral properties?
Yes.
AFX™ incorporates antimicrobial and antiviral surface properties that help inhibit the growth of bacteria and reduce the activity of certain viruses on the laminate surface. These properties support improved surface hygiene but are not a substitute for normal cleaning and hygiene practices.
Is AFX™ easy to clean?
Yes.
Most everyday marks can be removed using a soft microfibre cloth, warm water and a mild detergent. For more stubborn marks, isopropyl alcohol may be used. Minor surface marks can often be reduced using a melamine cleaning sponge. Refer to the AFX™ Care & Maintenance Guide for detailed cleaning recommendations.
What finish is AFX™ available in?
AFX™ features a beautifully smooth, ultra-matt surface with a premium soft-touch feel. The low-reflective finish creates a contemporary appearance while helping to minimise the visibility of fingerprints and smudges.
Are all AFX™ colours held in stock?
No.
While many AFX™ colours are stocked in New Zealand, selected colours are available on an indent basis. Additional lead times and minimum order quantities may apply.
Is matching edge tape available?
Yes.
Matching ABS edge tape is available for the majority of AFX™ colours to provide a consistent finished appearance.
Where can I find the AFX™ Care & Maintenance Guide?
The AFX™ Care & Maintenance Guide, including a demonstration video, is available on our Resources page. It provides detailed guidance on cleaning, maintenance and recommended care practices to help keep your AFX™ surfaces looking their best.
